How FORGE ranks NFL teams
FORGE — Football Outcome & Roster Game Evaluation — rates teams with the FORGE Predictive Index. Rankings are model output, not editorial opinion, and no projection is presented as a guaranteed outcome.
Play-level, opponent-adjusted
Every play is evaluated against its situation — down, distance, field position, score state — then adjusted for the quality of the opponent, venue, rest and conditions.
One rating per team
Adjusted offensive, defensive and quarterback performance combine into the FORGE Rating: a team's strength relative to an average NFL team on a neutral field.
Re-run and graded weekly
Ratings are rebuilt after each slate of games from the published Official run, and prior projections are graded against results rather than revised after the fact.
